Their marriage was on the rocks throughout the last series of Doc Martin.
But things seemed to be well and truly back on track for Martin Clunes and Caroline Catz's characters as they got to work on the set of the ITV drama in Port Isaac, Cornwall, on Wednesday.
The actor, 55, got into character as his alter-ego Dr Martin Ellingham, sharing a smooch with his school headmistress wife Louise as they shot forthcoming scenes.
The doctor looked very dapper in his blue suit, teamed with a glossy navy tie and a crisp white shirt.
But the TV hero - who is usually grumpy - couldn't stop smiling as his relationship with his on-screen wife is seemingly going from strength to strength.
